  2. Get 1/2 cup toor dal

  17. Prepare As per taste Oil
  18. Take 1 tbs garam masala
  19. Take For jeera rice :
  20. Prepare 1 bowl rice
  21. Get As required Ghee
  22. Make ready 2-3 cloves
  23. Get 1 bay leaf
  24. Make ready As per taste Salt

I recommend you people to use moong. Jeera rice is one of the most ordered rice dishes in Indian restaurants. Do not stir vigorously the rice grains will break. This step will help keep the jeera rice fluffy and will prevent from.

Steps to make Dal fry and jeera rice:
  1. Wash and soak the dal. Moong dal, toor dal, chana dal and urad dal for 20 minutes.
  2. Take a pressure cooker and boil it till 4-5 whistles.
  3. After that take a pan and add oil, cumin seeds, asafoetida, garlic ginger and green chilli paste mix it till the raw smell gone. After that add chopped onion and after sometime add chopped tomato.
  4. After sometime add boiled dal and add turmeric powders, salt, garam masala, red chilli powder, kasoori methi, cumin coriander powder. And mix it well. And garnish it with coriander.
  5. Jeera rice : wash and soak the rice, and add cloves, ghee and bay leaf and boil it for 10 minutes.
  6. After remove the water and keep it the rice for 2 -3 hours.
  7. After that take a pan add ghee, jeera and add the rice and salt mix it well. Here it's ready enjoy with dal fry.

Serve jeera rice hot or warm with a dal or vegetable/paneer curry of your choice.
