  12. Make ready 1 tsp Ground black pepper
  13. Prepare 1 tsp Cayenne pepper

As far as beer goes, you can use whatever you want. We happened to have a IPA in our fridge so that's what I used. I think a dark beer like a stout or a brown. As the legend goes, someone was making a batch of chili one day, while drinking too much beer By the time it was fished out, the contents had escaped, and a new, delicious version of chili was born.

Instructions to make Beer Chili:
  1. Brown ground beef/beef stew meat in a large pot and season with salt, pepper, and chili powder
  2. While browning meat: in another pan heat olive oil (about 2 teaspoons) and add diced green pepper and diced onion. Cook until translucent and then add garlic, cook another 2 minutes. Add to ground beef/beef stew meat pot.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and then turn down the heat to a simmer or transfer to a crockpot.
  4. The longer it cooks the better it is!!!
  5. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and onions. Or whatever is your favorite. ENJOY!!!
